Thank you for this video!! I am in the process of spraying a poly finish onto a change table, but I went a bit heavy and had a few drips. Using a card scraper to cut off the bumps fixed it up beautifully :) Such a simple concept that I had not considered before!

Dude none of these videos go over how to make the TEMPLATE. The first step in all of the videos in trunnions is ALWAYS, I printed out a template and glued it to a piece of plywood. Okay that’s awesome and I follow you, but how the hell did you make the template! I know how to build the darn thing my issue is figuring out how big it needs to be and all the precise calculations and stuff to make sure everything is squared away. I’m trying to make one for a table saw but I’m pretty sure it’s very similar if not the exact same.

The fan would be more efficient, if, the swept areas for inlet and outlet were about the same. So, the top cover would need to be conical. If the blades were also aerofoil shaped that would also improve efficiency, and reduce noise.

Hi Matthias, I saw Your cove cutting calculator. Could You please explain why I need the "steps" ? I can't understand why I could not just fix the fence to the final dimension of the cove needed, and then made single passes raising the blade of say, 2 mm each time. Thank You ! ( everything always informative, anyway, go on with these good ideas )

I almost wonder if using a powerful leaf blower would have been effective. A plug-in electric blower might have worked better due to the sheer amount of air being moved. But the air compressor seems way better for stuck on dust. So maybe a combo of both would have been best.

You didn't even need a flammable liquid, you could have used sawdust to get a similar effect. Aerosolized sawdust makes great fireballs.

Wood finishing is your Achilles heel I'm afraid, if you are getting runs and curtains you have not got it right....sorry but its true. Considering you want a quick job, mini roller with a water based finish would be a better finish in much less time....

good vid, perhaps we should rethink if the use of finishes is necessary? maybe a bed could stay raw wood, thats healthier to sleep in. its unlikly to get dirty and you never have to refinish, just a light sanding if needed... the less chemicals in our home and on the dump, the better.

O projeto e execução é muito bem feito, como você sempre faz. Mas a pintura não me agradou, da para notar as trilhas das cerdas do pincel, deveria ter sido utilizado uma pistola de pintura, assim o acabamento sairia perfeito.

At the door cabinet place I worked at we would spray the doors on a conveyor line hanging vertical. They would get a coat, then dry and sand, and needless to say you wouldn't put the new guy spraying final coat on the doors. I had seen some pretty brutal runs in my days.

I suggest a psychological study be done on opinions about the correct application of finishes vs life satisfaction. My opinion is that a "perfect" finish is not going to remain that way once an item is being used and that dings look worse in a sea of perfection than on a functional finish.

becomes grimy where touched, in time. Not as water-resistant. some oils seem to encourage mildew (?). it takes weeks instead of hours to dry. You know it has its uses though :) I like it for food handling equip and tool handles. wooden things that get used hard, repeatedly sanded and oiled over years, develop a really cool surface. Last bit- my dad finished all his furniture with 1/3 linseed oil 1/3 oil-based poly 1/3 tung oil. Increasing ratio of poly for water resistance. Brush it on thick and wipe off after 30 min or so, do three or four coats. He finished with a paste made of beeswax and linseed oil that takes forever to harden. Most of us don't put so much time (and waste) into finishing, but the result is way prettier than varnish and easy to repair. Can just keep piling on the paste or sand and refinish. The polyurethane gives it decent water resistance

You should try duller sheens for your finishes. They hide scratches and scuffs, which makes it perfect for kids or pets, and the sheen also hides any of your mistakes. It used to be true that the higher the sheen the harder the finish, but not anymore.
